The scoring system for any fantasy football league must be agreed upon before the start of the season.
In performance league, points are scored for touchdowns and the individual performance of the
position players. Some examples are quarterbacks scoring 6 points for each touchdown, 1 point
for every 20 yards of passing, 1 point for every 10 yards of rushing and losing 2 points for
every interception; running backs can score 6 points per td, 1 point for every 10 yards rushing
and lose 1 point per fumble.
It is important to map out all of the scoring possibilities before the season starts to avoid
having a conflict over the specific scoring of a play. For example a quarterback reverses to a
running back who then throws to a wide receiver down field who laterals to a tight end who scores
the touchdown. Rules dictating scoring can get quite detailed.
